The Contract Researcher Program accepts engineers and researchers who are currently working at private companies and provides them with graduate school level of research training to enhance their capabilities.

Required Qualifications for Contract Researcher

• Engineers and researchers who are currently working at private companies with Bachelor degree.
• A person has equivalent academic background and is approved by an appropriate university faculty head.

Research Period and Measures

For contract researchers, the research period is one year and within the fiscal year to which the start date belongs. If companies would like to extend, the acceptance can be extended for the next two fiscal years.
Research measures start by determining the teaching staff while considering research themes along with the contract researcher`s desire.

How to Apply/Research Fees

Submit a contract researcher application using the designated form from the head of the company to the head of the relevant faculty of the University. Application can be made aｔ any time.

NOTE: The research fees will increase if special facilities at the institute are used.

Handling of Intellectual Property Rights

Intellectual property created by a contract researcher is as follows.
If the invention is made in the course of research solely by a contract researcher of the company, such researcher or the company to which he or she belongs solely holds the Intellectual Property Rights to such invention.
If the invention is made in the course of the research jointly by a contract researcher and university staff, the university and the company jointly hold the Intellectual Property Rights to such joint invention.
