Highly-efficient Coating Technique for Preparation of High-temperature Superconductor Film

Features
In high-temperature superconducting wire, superconducting layer (YBa2Cu3O7-δ) has been prepared by pulsed laser deposition or chemical vapor deposition (CVD). However, their low deposition rate and low yield constant are issues in practical use. Chemical composition and orientation of the superconducting layer should also be precisely controlled in order to archive a high performance. We have develop a new laser CVD and have studied a high-speed, highly-efficient deposition process. We have successfully prepared c-axis oriented YBa2Cu3O7-δ superconducting film on Hastelloy tape substrate at high deposition rate and high yield constant.

Targeted Application(s) / Industry
Laser CVD process can be applied in high-speed preparation of either superconducting film or multicomponent functional ceramic films.
