Tohoku University and PUES Co., Ltd. established the “PUES Corporation x Tohoku Univ. Next-Generation Mobility Co-creation Research Center” on May 1, 2026, on Tohoku University’s Aobayama Campus, and commenced operations.

PUES is a leading electric vehicle development company established in 1999 when the EV development division of Tokyo R&D Co., Ltd. spun off. As an independent engineering firm, it has developed electric components such as motors, inverters, and battery packs for the electrification of a wide range of mobility solutions, including passenger cars, construction machinery, and aircraft.

The purpose of this research center is to accelerate research and development in next-generation mobility and electric components. By fully leveraging PUES’ expertise in power electronics design and development technology and Tohoku University’s cutting-edge academic knowledge in power devices and power modules, the center will promote research and explore next-generation mobility and electric components that contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society.

A new type of pluripotent stem cells discovered from adult human mesenchymal tissue(Kuroda et al., 2010, PNAS；Wakao et al., 2011, PNAS; Kuroda et al., Nature Protocol, 2013), identified as in human dermal fibroblasts that are characterized by stress tolerance, expression of pluripotency markers, self-renewal, and the ability to differentiate from a single cell. In collaboration with major national and international institutions, we are promoting research on Muse cell-based regenerative medicine for diseases without definitive treatments.
