Features
We first proposed the selection method (screening method) for probiotics such as lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and/or Bifidobacteria to human colon mucin by using a biosensor Biacore. We first discovered LAB with high adhesion to human ABO blood type antigen. We also discovered several adhesin such as surface layer protein, GAPDH, transporter protein, etc.

Targeted Application(s)/Industry
We are expecting the exclusion of harmful bacteria which may be the cause of UC and CD of IBD by using such LAB in the near future.
