The project aims at building a network of university academics, local government officials, non-government/no-profit organizations and concerned citizens in and around Sendai city to help bring foreign residents--students, workers, alien spouses and children--into local communities in more socially just and culturally equal manner. The "multicultural co-existence" is the official Japanese term for policies aimed at incorporating and integrating foreign residents into local communities on the basis of mutual respect for Japanese and alien cultures.Targeted Application(s)/Industry
Local governments at various levels, NGO/NPOs concerned with foreign residents in Japan and/or international exchange activities, schools interested in international exchange and cross-cultural activities are among the partners targeted in this project.Researchers
